Class Expectations and Assignments

Assignments:

–Participants are expected to upload a short response to the readings every week before class. Responses, around 300 words, should identify the important arguments in each reading and respond to the ones most relevant to participants’ own work. We all need to read everyone’s response BEFORE class, so please post NO LATER THAN 12 noon on the Sunday before Monday’s class.

–Participants are required to upload a 750-1000 word mid-term response discussing the terms ‘memory,’ ‘trauma,’ and ‘performance.’ How do the writers we have read define them? Are there aspects you think should be added to the definitions? How do these terms help you think about your own work–or not! Due October 10. 12 noon.

–Final Project: As a class, we will create a collaborative digital project as a final assignment. To prepare: students will break into groups (number to be decided) One 1000-word group outline of the collaborative topic (along with a breakdown of who will do what) will be due on Oct 10, and the final collaborative digital project will be due by December 11. Students will work in groups, and be responsible for presentation a short, oral class presentation (20-30 minutes per group) on the topic of their final project for class feedback (Nov 27, Dec 4). Please feel free to meet or contact me to discuss final projects. No final paper.

Expectations:
Participants are required to attend every class. Failure to do so will result in a lower grade. If you need to miss a class, please let your professor know in advance.
